2024-25 Collaborative ELL/MLL Leadership Empowerment Cohort (Title III) Inquiry Form

The Collaborative’s ELL/MLL Leadership Empowerment Cohort provides the professional development and added supports necessary to ensure school leadership is prepared to not only address the unique needs of their language learners, but also affect school-wide change.

Participation is exclusive to school, instructional, and ELL/MLL leads who have the ability to turnkey best practices and implement new programming for the 2024-2025 supports.

In 2011, the New York City Charter School Center merged a consortium of borough-based special education cooperatives into a citywide membership program. The Collaborative for Inclusive Education now serves 190 NYC public charter schools, providing access to professional development, expert technical assistance, and advocacy in support of schools’ efforts to meet the needs of students with disabilities and multilingual learners.

With over 90 years of combined experience as former school and special populations leads, the Collaborative team has spent over a decade developing, adapting, and implementing special populations systems and programs within charter schools. Our work with schools and leading experts enables us to understand trends and challenges, gather and share best practices, and provide professional development and resources that not only promote compliance but also ensure inclusion, equity, and access for all.

The ELL/MLL Leadership Empowerment Cohort Package costs $6,950 and includes:

10 “Seats” to Specialized Professional Development Workshops Throughout SY 2024-25

Cohort members will be able to select from over 20 Title III-Eligible workshops during the school year (average of 2 per-month) on topics ranging from literacy, math, and science supports for ELLs/MLLs to newcomer-specific supports.

1:1 Coaching

Two Hour-Long Virtual Coaching Sessions to Address Your School’s Specific Needs

On a semesterly basis, our team of experts will meet with your school's designated lead to discuss concerns, areas for growth and other topics related to ELL/MLL education, helping to ensure cohort members can implement and scale best practices.

Virtual Office Hours

Exclusive Quarterly Virtual Office Hours For ELL/MLL Empowerment Cohort Leads

Our team of experts will facilitate group discussions on key topics, including understanding and planning for federally-compliant identification and programming, accelerating language acquisition, and culturally and linguistically relevant pedagogy.

This cohort will be active between September 2024-June 2025. Only 10 schools outside of NYC will be invited to participate in this Title III-eligible initiative.
